Kelley is an alto from Winchester, Massachusetts, just north of Boston. A lifelong vocalist, she first discovered her love of singing in her elementary school choir before joining the Jubilation Singers, a middle-school show choir.
During those years, she also sang competitively and auditioned for a spot in the Massachusetts All-State Choir. In high school, Kelley stepped into leadership roles, serving as president of the Winchester High School Choral Program and, in her senior year, as the Chamber Singers soprano section leader.
She later attended Connecticut College, earning a bachelor’s degree in Government and American Studies. Her commitment to leadership continued through college, where she served as both president and music director of the Conn Artists, one of the school’s choirs. After graduating, Kelley moved to Philadelphia to stay close to family while exploring life in a more urban environment.
After leaving the Conn Artists, Kelley felt a strong desire to keep singing and began searching for a local music group. Beyond wanting to continue performing, she hoped to meet new people. Her search led her to Noteworthy, which she discovered through Google; she auditioned and officially joined in April 2024, shortly after arriving in Philadelphia. She notes that the group’s close-knit, sociable culture played a major role in her decision to become a member.
Professionally, Kelley wears many hats. She has worked as a server and a dog walker, and more recently as an artist’s assistant for the Jane Gallery in Northeast Philadelphia. She also works remotely providing administrative support for Casa Chihuahua, a doggy-daycare and boarding business run by her mother in Winchester. While she is still determining her long-term career direction, she is interested in the legal field and is passionate about social justice, which she hopes to begin writing about..
Philadelphia is the first major city Kelley has called home. She says the experience has been overwhelmingly positive, especially as she immerses herself in the city’s rich culture and endless opportunities. Still, she shares a few sentiments familiar to native Philadelphians, including wishing for more bike lanes and a more reliable SEPTA. For now, her goals are to keep meeting new people, build a fulfilling career, and continue doing what she loves most: singing.
