We are anything but reserved.

Founded in 2018 by lifelong musician, arts leader, and educator Vince E. McNeil Jr., Noteworthy Philadelphia began with a search for something that was surprisingly difficult to find: a challenging, collaborative musical home for young adults beyond college.

For many singers, leaving school also means leaving behind the ensembles, rehearsal rooms, performances, and creative communities that once gave structure to their musical lives. Noteworthy was created to help fill that gap. What began as a search for a fresh artistic outlet has grown into a contemporary vocal ensemble and nonprofit organization where Millennial and Gen Z musicians can continue developing their voices, expanding their musicianship, and finding community through shared artistic work.

We are anything but reserved.

Noteworthy brings together singers with varied musical backgrounds, from experienced performers and music educators to talented vocalists still learning to read sheet music. Through rehearsals, workshops, performances, collaborative projects, and music production, members strengthen their vocal technique, audiation, harmony, music theory, arranging, stage presence, and vocal percussion skills. The ensemble’s repertoire moves across genres and performance styles, incorporating a cappella arrangements, instrument-accompanied selections, remakes, mashups, medleys, and other approaches to musical storytelling.

Since its founding, Noteworthy has performed throughout Greater Philadelphia, partnered with fellow arts and community organizations, and invited members of the public into the music through accessible vocal workshops and interactive performances. Whether appearing at a community festival, producing a music video, collaborating with another ensemble, or helping someone experience group singing for the first time, Noteworthy approaches performance as both an artistic pursuit and a form of connection.

At its core, Noteworthy exists so that young adults do not have to choose between growing older and continuing to grow as musicians. We are building a space where singers can learn, experiment, lead, perform, and contribute to the sound and colour of Philadelphia.
